How it works
We look up your source thread, convert its hex colour into Lab colour space, then rank threads in the target brand by perceptual distance (CIE ΔE). ΔE under ~3 is a very close match; 3–6 is close; higher means a noticeable difference. Always double-check against your fabric and lighting.
Example: DMC 310 (pure black) converts to Anchor 403 at ΔE ≈ 0 — an exact match. DMC 815 (garnet red) maps to Anchor 43 at ΔE ≈ 1.5, close enough to substitute.
